Hey everyone!
It’s been a busy busy couple of weeks at Frog HQ. I designed and published a one-page RPG called Draw!, which uses a lot of rules that Shot and Spell has. It was kind of a dry run to see if I could get something up and running, and have it be fun. Over 300 downloads later, I think people are enjoying it.
But I know what you are all here for. Shot and Spell! I have been working on a version that can be shared and is playable (I hope). It is rough still, with typos and badly needs an edit, but it can be played!
So here it is! Along with a short three-battle prologue campaign that will give you a company to take into the dark world of the Commonwealth. Each battle is about 30-45 minutes long.
Also, I have a sheet where you can enter your unit details and track your commander and mage details.
Of course, everything is subject to change.
But I hope you have a great time and I’d love to hear what about these three things:
Do the rules make sense?
Is it fun to play?
Are there any huge omissions or things I need to include?

Army list
There you have it. Let me know what you think. And if you do play, please send some photos of your battlefield.
Future plans for Shot and Spell are to continue to work on it, but I have more ideas on using this system for other games. I’m excited and think I’m onto something good here.
The Lone Toad Newsletter
As you probably know I write the Lone Toad, a solo-focused newsletter about whatever I think is interesting that month. It’s gone incredibly well and already outpaced all my goals for it this year.
As it has nearly 1,000 subscribers, would anyone here be interested in hearing about the background strategy and planning that goes into it? I’m happy to share my strategy for growth and how I do the newsletter but I only want to write about what you all find interesting.
Until next time!
Thomas
Croaker RPGs
Hey everyone. If you are seeing two sets of Bad War uploaded and no core rules, please view it on the App or the website and it will be updated to show the core rules also. Substack uploader is very finicky.
